베를린 필하모닉의 한 시대가 끝나가고 있다. 이번 발트뷔네 음악회를 끝으로 사이먼 래틀 경은 16년 만에 오케스트라 상임지휘자 자리에서 물러난다. 거슈윈, 포레, 하차투리안, 레스피기의 곡들이 다채롭고 화려한 작별을 선사할 것이다. 스타 초대가수인 사이먼의 아내 메조소프라노 막달레나 코제나가 조세프 캉틀루브의 매력적인 <오베르뉴의 노래> 발췌곡을 부른다.

Goodbye Sir Simon! With this concert from the Waldbühne, the Berliner Philharmoniker not only bring the concert season to a close, but also say farewell to Simon Rattle in his capacity as the orchestra's chief conductor. Including this evening, the British conductor has been at the helm of the traditional season closing event seven times, an event whose summer open-air atmosphere, its music-loving, picnicking crowds, a great guest star and special programming all combine to give it its special flair. In 2004, at the end of his second season with the Philharmoniker, Simon Rattle appeared at the Waldbühne for the first time and conducted a Tchaikovsky night, in which Lang Lang made his first appearance as a soloist in a concert with the orchestra, performing the Russian composer's First Piano Concerto. Audiences didn't let the cold weather spoil the mood and applauded enthusiastically, leading Simon Rattle to remark, "What we have here is the biggest family".

굿바이 사이먼 경! 이번 발트뷔네 콘서트로 베를린 필하모닉 오케스트라는 콘서트 시즌을 시작할 뿐만 아니라 오케스트라 수석 지휘자로서 역할을 수행했던 사이먼 래틀에게 작별 인사를 전한다. 오늘 저녁을 포함하여 영국인 지휘자는 7회의 전통 시즌 폐막 행사를 이끌어왔는데, 야외 여름 행사로 음악을 좋아하는 피크닉 관중, 초대가수와 특별한 프로그램 모두 그 특별한 감각을 부여하기 위해 결합한다. 2004년 베를린 필과의 두 번째 시즌이 끝날 무렵, 사이먼 래틀은 발트뷔네에 처음으로 출연하여 <차이코프스키의 밤>을 지휘했는데, 랑랑이 솔로이스트로 첫 출연하여 러시아 작곡가의 피아노 협주곡 1번을 연주했다. 청중들은 추운 날씨가 분위기를 망치지 않게 열정적인 박수를 보내어 사이먼 래틀의 다음과 같은 말로 이어졌다. “우리가 가진 것은 가장 큰 가족입니다.”

The Tchaikovsky programme was followed in 2005 by a "Nuit française" with Maurice Ravel's "Boléro", Paul Dukas' "Sorcerer" and Camille Saint-Saëns' "Carnival of the Animals" – plus Francis Poulenc's Concerto for two pianos performed by the sisters Katia and Marielle Labèque. In 2007, the musical theme was "Rhapsodies", in 2009 "Russian Rhythms" with Yefim Bronfman as the soloist in Rachmaninov's virtuoso Third Piano Concerto, and Igor Stravinsky's "Le Sacre du printemps". Four years later, Sir Simon and the Philharmoniker proved that even Ludwig van Beethoven's hallowed Ninth Symphony suits the Waldbühne. In 2015, the conductor and orchestra then took their audience on a tour of Hollywood's most famous film scores.

차이코프스키 프로그램은 2005년 <프랑스의 밤>으로 이어졌는데, 모리스 라벨의 <볼레로>, 폴 뒤카의 <마법사의 제자>, 카미유 생상스 <동물의 사육제>와 함께 했다. - 카티아와 마리유 라베크 자매의 프랑시스 풀랑크 2대의 피아노를 위한 협주곡도 덧붙여졌다. 2007년의 음악 테마는 <랩소디>였으며, 2009년의 <러시아 리듬>은 예핌 브론프만이 연주하는 라흐마니노프 걸작 피아노 협주곡 3번, 이고르 스트라빈스키의 <봄의 제전>과 함께 했다. 4년 후 사이먼 경과 베를린 필은 베토벤의 신성한 9번 교향곡이 발트뷔네에 어울린다는 것을 증명했다. 2015년에는 청중에게 할리우드의 가장 유명한 영화음악을 선사했다.

For Rattle's last concert, too, you can look forward to a special programme. It includes the "Chants d'Auvergne" by Joseph Canteloube, a collection of songs in which the French composer and folk music researcher arranged the songs of the Auvergne for voice and orchestra. Its pastoral tone, inspired by the beauty of nature, makes the songs – sung here by Magdalena Kožená – an ideal programme item for the summery backdrop of the Waldbühne. And finally – to quote Sir Simon – "same procedure as every year": Paul Lincke's uplifting march "Berliner Luft" as the unmissable encore at every Waldbühne concert.

래틀의 마지막 콘서트에 대해 특별한 프로그램도 기대할 수 있다. 조세프 캉틀루브의 <오베르뉴의 노래>를 포함하는데, 프랑스 작곡가와 민속음악 연구자가 목소리와 오케스트라를 위한 오베르뉴의 노래들을 편곡한 노래들의 모음이다. 그 목가적인 음색은 자연의 아름다움에 영감을 받았는데, 발트뷔네의 여름 배경을 위한 이상적인 프로그램 아이템인 막달레나 코제나가 여기에서 부른다. 그리고 마지막으로 사이먼 래틀을 인용하자면 “매년 같은 절차”로 파울 링케의 행복감을 주는 행진곡 <베를린 공기>가 모든 발트뷔네 콘서트에서 놓쳐서는 안 될 앙코르로 연주된다.

다 받으면 8기가 이상이므로 토렌트에서 구한 파일로 가지고 있다. <자유의 종>은 찾아보니 1776년 7월 8일 미국 독립 선언이 공포되었을 때 울린 종이다. 다운로드 버튼이 보이지 않으면 Yandex.Disk 사이트에 회원 가입해서 무료로 받으면 된다. 비가 와서 그런지 사람들이 우비를 입고 있다. <뻐꾸기>란 노래는 프랑스어 스펠링(Le Coucou)이 맞지 않은데 내 생각에 사투리인 것 같다. 엘가가 나오기 전에 래틀이 말하는데 푸스발(독일어로 축구)이란 단어도 나온다. 월드컵이 한창일 때 열린 콘서트니까. 관악기 주자들이 하얀 가발을 쓰고 연주하는데 래틀의 헤어스타일인 것 같기도 하다. 엘가가 나오니깐 베를린이 아니라 런던 BBC 프롬스인 것처럼 느껴진다. 래틀 경이 지금은 런던 심포니 오케스트라를 지휘하지만 나중에 베를린 필을 객원 지휘할 일도 있겠지... 이 비디오는 나중에 DVD로도 출시될 것이다. 마지막 곡은 발트뷔네 콘서트의 전용 앙코르! 래틀 경이 마지막 곡을 지휘하지 않고 맥주가 담긴 컵을 들고 단원들 사이를 돌아다닌다. 이제 래틀 경은 런던으로 가고 베를린 필이랑은 안녕!
