DUX Recording Producers was founded in 1992 by Małgorzata Polańska and Lech Tołwiński, graduates of the Sound Engineering Department of the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw. The main line of the label's activity is the production of recordings of classical music. CDs on the DUX label represent the highest artistic standard and are produced using the most up-to-date technologies. In addition to producing CDs on its own label, DUX offers a wide range of recording services for other labels and for various institutions such as music societies, festivals and radio stations.

둑스 레코딩 프로듀서는 바르샤바 쇼팽 음악원에서 사운드 엔지니어링을 전공한 마우고르자타 폴란스카와 레흐 토우빈스키에 의해 1992년 창설되었다. 음반 활동의 근간이 되는 부분은 클래식 음악 녹음의 제작이다. 둑스 레이블의 CD는 최고의 예술적 표준을 나타내며 최신 기술을 사용하여 제작된다. 자체 레이블로 CD를 제작하는 것 외에도 둑스는 다른 음반사들뿐만 아니라 음악 협회, 페스티벌, 라디오 방송국 같은 다양한 기관들에 폭넓은 녹음 서비스를 제공한다.

Activities

DUX has to its credit over 1,000 recordings documenting the achievements of prominent Polish and foreign musicians. DUX projects include the recordings of the CHOPIN INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION in Warsaw in 1995, 2000 and 2005. Jointly with the Towarzystwo im. Fryderyka Chopina (Chopin Society), DUX produced the Sound Chronicles of the Competitions in a series of CDs. Within the framework of a similar joint project, DUX cooperated with the Towarzystwo im. Henryka Wieniawskiego (the Henryk Wieniawski Society) in the documenting the Henry Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznań in 2006 in a CD series. DUX projects also include numerous recordings from Wratislavia Cantans, Poland's major festival of oratorios and cantatas. Cooperation with the Warszawska Opera Kameralna (Warsaw Chamber Opera) has resulted in numerous recordings for its Pro Musica Camerata Foundation. DUX has realized several joint undertakings with the Opera Dolnośląska in Wrocław, comprising not only audio CDs but also DVDs in the multi-channel system. DUX has made numerous recordings documenting major musical events for Polish Radio archives. Many discs on the DUX label and its recording projects have met with great popular interest and critical acclaim in Poland and abroad, as evidenced by numerous awards and honorable mentions.

CD Publishers

Polish music performed by Polish musicians occupies the most prominent place in the DUX catalogue. The current discography, running into several hundred items, consists of the following series: Early Music, Penderecki, Paderewski, Szymanowski, Wieniawski, Kilar, Lutosławski, Contemporary Polish Music, Ewa Podleś and Kevin Kenner.
