And he looked forward to providing the thousands of spectators on and along the canal with a wonderful evening of music: "It is a great honour for me to perform during the Prinsengracht Concert and to 'celebrate' it with all the spectators. It will be a concert full of surprises, which I hope does justice to this event."

Tharaud & Friends
During the Prinsengracht Concert, Tharaud performed with several musician friends: France's hugely popular singer Juliette, Belgian clarinettist Ronald Van Spaendonck, who is seen as one of the best clarinettists of his generation, and Alberto Garcia, one of France's best-known flamenco singers. In addition, Tharaud performed with Dutch cello talent Harriet Krijgh (1991), one of the most promising young cellists of today. Krijgh has garnered many prizes, including first prize at both the Princess Christina Concours and the Amsterdam Cello Biennale. In Austria, Krijgh has her own annual chamber music festival, 'Harriet and Friends', at Burg Feistritz.
